help! cloudy film on new hardwood floors

Help! Prior to moving into our new home, we had a cleaning service come in and they used murphy's oil soap on the polyurethane finished hardwood floors. Now there is a cloudy film and it shows every paw print, foot print, EVERYTHING! They look horrible. Tried scrubbing with plain water, and then used an alcohol based cleaner the manufacturer recommended (bellawood cleaner), but nothing worked. Also, in an area used the swiffer wet jet with "gain" which made it even cloudier and then Johnson's paste wax on top which didn't work either. Called the previous owner - they are dark koa brazilian hardward wood from lumber liquidators. Any recommendations for getting this film off? HELP! I want to rip the floors out! On entire 1st floor & 2nd floor hallway

Check your service agreement with the cleaning service. If you didnt sign anything that says they are not responsible for damage i suggest you call them and demand they fix it. Unless you opted for the cheap non english speaking folks off CL.

I think either way you will need to get a hold of a floor pro who can use a commerical cleaner along with a power scrubber. My guess is anything thats done is going to require a buff n coat. Worst case is the floors need refinishing.

Two problems... one...Murphy's Oil Soap (contains SOAP) and...two...Johnson's Paste Wax on top of that (contains WAX).
