Hardwood around Log Lighter Valve

I will be replacing the carpet in our family room with pre-finished 3/4" hardwood. There is a Blue Flame Log Lighter Valve on the floor, which sits on the sub floor, but will not be flush with the level of the hardwood. Any ideas on the best way to work around this?

You could just cut around the valve. The cut doesnt have to be pretty since you could just get a cover to place over the valve that sits on the floor like an electrical outlet. I think that could be the easiest way.

Maybe get a technician to raise the valve some? Or, if there is sufficient "play"in the lead to the valve, maybe you could raise it yourself.
