Got a recommendation today that 3/4" solid wood that is 5" or wider be both nailed and glued down (in quasi-humid areas of Southern California). Anyone ever heard this as opposed to nail-only? What do you think?

I did a Bruce floor once, 3/4" solid, random width wax-finish oak, 3",5",7" wide, and that was their instructions, a bead of construction adhesive under the tongue-edge of each board. And that floor never creaked the 10 years I had regular contact w/it. Casey

Do it but glue down the middle not just the edge. It will keep the board from crowning from moisture. Use a good urethane glue for long term flex ability.
