I'm finishing my lower level basement which is a concrete slab, i have installed System Platon over the entire basement and also put 5/8" OSB over the Platon. I used tabcon's to fasten the OSB to the Concrete and i have been walking on this sublfloor for about 8 months now and it has been great. I now am getting to end of my remodel and want to put down about 400 sq ft of Engineered hardwood and wonder the best method for installing. I have considered using 1 1/4" staples to attach flooring to OSB but not sure if that is recommended. I have also considered floating with planks glued together, the flooring i have choose allow for the following Installation Method: Glue/ Float/ Nail/ Staple. Anyone have experience with stapling flooring down with short staples, 1" - 1/14", i planned on using a Spotnails hardwood stapler (WS4840W2).
