Can bamboo take heavy furniture?

We went to Lowes yesterday to look at Pergo for our bedrooms/office, but saw a light-colored locking bamboo that would only be a few hundred more than the Pergo.

But the display showed that bamboo was #2 on a 1-5 scale of hardness. We have some pretty heavy furniture (wood queen bed frame and a heavy computer armoire in the office) and are wondering if that will dent the bamboo. Anyone have experience with this?

Unless it's strand bamboo I would not get it. I am in the process of installing strand bamboo and I do think it can hold up to heavy furniture. But earlier bamboo floor technology, normally referred to as horizontal bamboo is much softer.

Thanks for the info--wasn't able to reply because of computer problems. I'll take a look at strand bamboo.

Get strand bamboo only. Very few people should consider non strand bamboo
