Rust oleum spatter on hardwood floor

Yesterday I tried to spray rust oleum paint on a radiator, and though I thought I had extensive taping and drip cloths, some of the spray migrated on to the hardwood floor. I am bereft. The floors are from 1926, don't know the wood, but they were redone 5 years ago, so the sealer would have to be something synthetic. Is there anything anyone can recommend to get the paint up off the floor? Should I just get a divorce now?

Try gently scrubbing it with soapy water and a plastic scrubby sponge.

Usually there is enough dust and dirt on the floor to prevent good adhesion.

Yes...a Dobie pad or something similar...most will be less hard than the finish on the wood, so you're unlikely to mar the finish.

A straight edged razor blade held almost flat to the floor and used quite gently will often pop off paint without causing any change in the underlying floor.

Try mineral spirits first. If you have to, go to acetone. Lacquer thinner last.
