Height of wood/laminate next to carpet?

Hi,
Building a new house. Was planning on putting vinyl plank flooring right on subfloor (as recommended by manufacturer), but I've become concerned because the planks are only 4 mm thick, and they will run right up to a 15' long transition to carpet. 4mm to 3/4" or more for carpet seems like a tripping hazard. Should I put down some underlayment to build up the 4mm? What height should the wood/fake wood be for being next to carpet? Thanks!
