High gloss and piano finish are both terms used for a higher luster finish on a laminate floor. Basically mean the same and I would not read durability into those terms at all. Do your research on both products to determine what is best in durability.

I also saw Bruce Park Avenue laminate with a "piano" finish and wasn't quite sure of the difference between the Bruce and the Diamond. As you said, both finishes are a high sheen.

I guess that durability will be according to the AC rating.
