Weird spots on wood floor

We have a fir floor throughout our condo. About a year ago, I noticed three spots, about a 1/2 inch in diameter, roughly circular, in the bedroom, and no one could figure out what they were. They were all near each other. Rubbing them lightened them somewhat.

The other day I came home and about 18" from the three spots were 5 tiny marks, dots, really, brown, and all next to each other. I rubbed them and something vaguely sticky came off. (The first marks were not sticky). I used Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to lighten them. These spots are all in a very inconspicuous part of the bedroom, but we'd love to know what's going on underneath the floor to cause these weird marks. Thanks!

Pictures? Without some pictures, there's no telling.

But, NEVER use a Magic Eraser on your floor, or paint, or cabinets, or anything that you care about maintaining the integrity of the finish. It's really just a very fine sandpaper, and how it works is it removes the top layer of whatever you're using it on. It can leave dull spots, because it's removing the material.

You're right - here are pics. Unfortunately, I don't think they show too much, or at least very well. Is there some general reason(s) why spots would spontaneously appear on a wood floor? I would think it must have to do with what's underneath the floor. Thanks for any help!
