Wood vs. Tile

Posted by jshea (My Page) on

Remodeling our home. Kitchen flows into the eating and family area and then into living room. Living room has a beautiful wood floor my husband put in years ago. Remodeling the entire kitchen. We have 6 adult children, 5 grandchildren and expect the family to expand. Love wood floors but am feeling that that 18 inch tile will be more durable and resistent to spills, etc. I would appreciate any thoughts.

Hi,
I think bidasar or quartzite stone are the best options for kitchen because both stones are famous for it's fireproof nature and low maintenance cost. Wooden floors is not suitable for kitchen. Wood is useful to decor room or kitchen.
Natural stone is the best option for kitchen.

RE: Wood vs. Tile

I have a similar problem with my floors. We have wood floors that are not in the best of shapes so we have to repair and refinish them. We also have six children but they're young (10 and under). We decided to change to porcelain tile which has less upkeep then stone and wood. We're installing the floors like stone with barely any grout. Good luck with ur decision
