Board Brokers wide planked French Oak (out of L.A.)

Has anyone ever used Board Brokers for flooring? They are based in L.A.

I received 7 samples from them today for engineered French Oak. Holy Smokes Batman!!! My mouth is watering. I had lusted after some Exquisite Surfaces Pave Stone & Tile, & Carlisle engineered flooring, but they were totally out of the realm of possibility with my budget. I was getting pretty close to settling with an Urban Floors product. I liked it but didn't LOVE it, & I kind of felt like I was settling.

After hours upon hours (& more hours) on Houzz, I found photos of the Board Brokers floors. They have an interior designer who is working with me. She looked over all my Pinterest idea boards for the house & sent me a bunch of samples (including one new product the just put in Spago - it was pretty but just contemporary for our look). She is really thorough & the service is incomparable to all the other places I have been dealing with. Me having to follow up with folks 3 weeks after requesting samples & never receiving them just isn't good business, especially with the amount of flooring I will be ordering.

Though we love the look of dark wood, it isn't practical with two young kids & a future dog. Friends with the darker woods tell me they sweep upwards of 4 times a day. I actually did my salt, pepper, & spices test on the floors. I am happy to say the Josselin French white oak hid everything! My 4 year-old was wondering what the heck I was doing. She said, "mommy, are we going to eat that wood?"

I think the next step is to take a trip to L.A. to see the stuff in person, but I am so excited at this point.

I just wanted some feedback if anyone has used them. I really like the fact they will be custom. She said once we put down the deposit, our unfinished flooring will be selected & laid out in their finishing facility & is hand finished all at once. She is involved through the entire process, which is great.

I will try to post a photo of my sample tomorrow. It is so pretty. I might just have to sleep with it tonight. :-)

Go, I will keep you posted. Isn't it amazing?! The finish is superb, especially compared to so many of the samples I have from floors finished in China. I am a ways off - we will hopefully break ground in 2 months, then another 6-7 months for the build. I want the floors to go in as close to last as possible.

This is the photo we gave to the architect & he is going to get the house as close to this as possible on the exterior. I think these floors will be a dream in there.
