Alright i think i remember reading you got quite a bt of experience with heart pine.

I got a contract for a 750 5.5" reclaimed heart pine. I didnt do the install someone else did. Thats fine a bit rough but what do you expect from reclaimed pine.

Anyways im refinishing it. Oil natural. (Polyurethane).
My main question is started sanding today. And hit the edges with 60 originally but that seemed to gum it up pretty quickly. I dropped down to 40 and while it gummed up the paper too i was able to get it done. I tried messin around with a section by progessively going up to 60 then i tried fining with 80 and 100. Well as you can imagine i didnt get very far with 80 and 100 well lets not speak of that. Lol.

I dont do enough pine of this size and was wonder if you got any advice. Keep in mind i dont use a trio. Do i need to just bite the bullet and govthru a box of 80 edger paper? And with the big machine belts. I got the middle cut with 36. Should i plan on going thru a box or two of 80 belts?

Thanks.

Greg.
