Is this a good price?

We just got a quote to get Bella cera prefinished solid hickory or maple handscraped wood installed on our first floor (about 1500 sq ft). The cost is $8.00 a square foot total, including installation and the materials. Is this a good price per sq ft? Here is a link to the wood..

Also which species is more durable? I love the rustic look of the hickory but not sure how it holds up. We don't have a big dog or anything, just 2 little kids.
