| I just had new carpet installed by Lowes (smart strand with smart cushion) two weeks ago. About 1450 sq feet of carpet. In walking around there are definitely areas of the carpet where the floor (I'm assuming the pad) feels harder or softer. Is the floor supposed to feel uniform or is this normal? |

| Smart Cushion is a high density pad and for there to be noticeble variations in density that you describe, some really bad things would have had to happen during manufacturing. But really bad things can happen. Other things could be causing the problem, but the only way to tell is to first pull back the carpet and begin diagnosis. |
