Brazillian cherry hardwood

I am considering having a prefinished Muskoka Brazillian cherry (in a dark walnut stain) installed in the home I am building. I have heard different things about the color changes that may occur. The owner of the store I am in contact with assures me that a prefinshed brazillian cherry with a dark stain will be sealed and steamed at the manufacturer and the color will not darken. Does anyone have experience with this?

Brazilian Cherry will continue becoming darker and redder even with a dark stain on top. The color should settle in 6 to 9 months.

Yes, it will darken and redden. And it will also be a LOT of maintenance. Any dark closed grain wood will show dust 15 minutes after dust mopping and if it's a high gloss, you may get some sweaty footprints as well, if your family (or pet) goes barefoot.
