| We seem to keep finding hardwood in a stain we like but it is maple. Though maple is harder than oak it seems in our sample tests to dent easier and it shows more.
Anyone know of a maple hardwood that doesn't show every mark? I don't mind some grain and prefer a matte finish. Want a medium to light stain. Any ideas? I should I just get oak? |

| You could choose hickory, its is 40% harder than oak. We selected it over maple and oak. We used Waterlox on the Hickory. What beautiful colors came out of the wood. Just a thought. |

| brandygirl, DH just said to me a few minutes ago, what about hickory. Our cabinets will be cherry bordeaux and we have black appliances, so we can't go too dark with the floor. Any chance you would post a photo of your floor? |
