| I have what appears to be 12 x 12 Calacatta delicato tiles that were laid down in the 60's or 70's. It was shined to a mirror finish about 12 years ago and other than vacuuming and light moping, nothing else has been done to it. So, it's in a sorry state. WHAT DO I DO WITH IT?
I have read that it is bad to "crystalize" marble because it is a chemical that ends up damaging the stone. TRUE? This marble scratches really easily, so it has been suggested that I would be better off with a honed/satin finish than with a mirror finish because scratches will not be so noticeable. If that is good advice, how do I get a satin finish and not a matte honed? (the real matte honed is like fingernails on chalk) I have also been told to not bother with the expense; to strip it, clean it, and seal it. How is this process different from honed/satin? Thank you. |
