| A salesman told us maple flooring is more sensitive to humidity compare to other woods. Said it is best to climate controlled homes.
I googled but found nothing. Any truth to this? Our house is dry in the winter and humid in the summer. |

| "Our house is dry in the winter and humid in the summer." Then your solid maple flooring will develop gaping in the winter. Maple does move more than many woods. see the National Wood Flooring Assoc. web site's stability chart for more information. Recommended humidity is with in a 35 - 55% range through out the year. Humidity levels in a basement or crawl space below the floor are also crucial as many are too moist in the summer. |
