Cork, bamboo, linoleum, reclaimed: help?

Hi --

We are doing a gut rehab of a 100 year old house and would like to be both eco-sensitive but also budget-sensitive in picking out flooring. Any and all feedback is really appreciated!

Are there reclaimed wood companies that people have had good/bad experiences with?

Can cork go in a basement?

Are bamboo and cork really even green once they get treated and shipped all the way to the US? How does that compare to hardwoods?

The "vinyl cork vinyl" sandwiches are not green to my way of thinking...neither are the floating cork floor constructions. Natural cork tile, installed and finished on site is green IMO. So is genuine linoleum.

I don't think cork can be installed on a basement slab. However, slab sealing technology is advancing to the point where basement applications of cork might be acceptable soon.

Reclaimed wood? It can be worth doing, if the wood is unique or special in some way.
