Color change of tile

We are building a lake home. Love Daltile continental slate in Brazilian Green. Larger samples on boards and in forums here from '09 show tiles with gray green background and rusty foreground. Have ordered samples recently and looked at sample boards recently and tiles have gray blue background. These have always been the smaller samples and smaller sample tiles like 6 by 6 inches.
Question is have they changed color formula in recent years to reflect the more trendy gray blue trend? Or is this just how the smaller tiles look while the larger ones are still more gray green background?
Anyone used this tile recently in a 12 by 12 or larger size that can comment?thanks much!

More likely shifts in the vein of slate they are mining.

Natural stone varies in color as you go through the vein.

I'm thinking the same tile, but I was under the impression that this tile was porcelain and not actual slate?
So there is more control over the color when they mfg. it?

Daltile from Continental Slate is Porcelain it is not true slate.

And yes they change color formulas to meet the market demands. Every manufacturer does from paint, clothes to cars.

If everyone wants a red when all you have is green. You will not stay in business long if you do not adjust to what the consumer wants.
