Because I had to change the countertop pattern I wanted, it became necessary to look for a different floor pattern/color as well. After receiving no less than 40 samples from Amtico, Permastone, Mannington, Armstrong, and Shaw, the only good pattern/color match is a Shaw product.

It is the Decostone hard surface, listed in the commercial division. The research via web I have done, shows it to be low maintenance and can be installed over previous resilient flooring (I think?!) But is it smart to put a commercial floor in a residence?

Do any of you have any thoughts about why I should or should not proceed with this type of floor in my kitchen? It would be professionally installed and the retailer alone does not have answers off the top of their heads as they do not use this fairly new acquisition by Shaw of this LG product.
