| Should I choose 2 1/4 inch wide strips for our hardwood floors if it'll save me $3k? Or should splurge on the 3 inch?
I'm thinking 2 1/4 inch might look a little busy. On the other hand, that seems to be what they have in historical homes, so maybe it's more classic. My style is traditional. Thoughts? |

| I'm sorry, but paying $3k more for 3" over 2 1/4" of the same species, grade and sawing seems a bit high of an upcharge. However, I have no idea what the square footage is, so my presumption may be off base. If the job is over 1000 square feet, then it looks a little more reasonable. Whether a floor will look 'busy' or not depends very much on the species, grade and sawing...more so than the width of the board, in my opinion. |
