floor type with paneled walls

We have very nice wood paneled walls in our living room and want a new floor. We currently have carpet, which isn't very pet friendly. We would like to have wood floors, but is that too much wood in the room? The paneling is 2 story and medium color (ash?); we like it and definitely won't paint it. Any suggestions for flooring would be appreciated. Thanks.

A stone effect luxury vinyl tile might look good. Wood almost goes with anything. You could choose a lighter color wood floor, maybe cork...what do you like?
