I know this is a long shot, not only because this is a national board, but also because the forums are so splintered that there might be someone with a great answer who has no reason to be in the Flooring forum - but I'll give it a shot.

Any recommendations for New York City companies that do wood flooring? I've talked to about ten so far, and had four in to look at the needed repair, but the guys that seem good have been impossible to pry an estimate from them.
