Go to a Sherwin Williams and pick up a small can of their Fruitwood color stain. I believe that will be real close..... may take 2 applications.

redroze - how was the fruitwood stain?

Hi, I'm rarely on this forum but glad I came on! I didn't end up using the SW fruitwood stain. Our stainer did a great job though, he just put the last coat of poly on today. Here are some photos. It was a custom mix of (strangely) Duraseal's Ebony and Minwax's Red Mahogany, with lots of the Ebony on it. I decided to go darker than my above inspiration pic.

This photo was from last week, prior to getting the last coat of poly and with LOTS of dust on it. It gives you an idea of the darkness.

I'm from Canada too...Toronto.
We're having the same problem, the initial 1st coat of Dura Seal stain medium brown is too light and inconsistent, partly due to the nature of the oak itself. I think to achieve a more uniform look we'll have to go darker than originally planned. Did you have to resand your floors before they were re-stained? And if you're from Toronto what is the name of your flooring person?
PS Your floors look great.
