Is it uncommon to have two different kinds of wood flooring?

I want to put hardwood flooring in a guest bedroom and it is going to be nearly impossible to match what I have in the dining room and foyer. Does it matter if you have different hardwood floors on the same level of your home? The existing hardwood is stained oak and was already here when we moved in. The previous owners had the wood stained after it was installed. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Would this be a negative for resale?
