Removing Interior Brick Pavers

We are renovating our kitchen that currently has brick pavers (they are white so I'm not sure if they are ceramic coated or what).

The pavers are set in a mortar subfloor with a metal lath floor below it screwed to the original wood floors.

How can we best remove them? A hammer is quite labor intensive. Is there a better tool? I small jack-hammer?

We would like to preserve the wood flooring as much as possible.

I need advice on removing interior brick pavers. They are full size bricks covering 400 sq. ft.

Easiest way? Hire some cheap labor and be done with it. Pulling out that morter and lathe can be a bear.....

Otherwise, buy or rent a chipping hammer, a 10 lb sledge, a wrecking bar, a wheelbarrow, a shovel or two and beg, borrow or steal a trailer to haul it all away to the dump....oh yeah, and some good gloves and eye protection......
