I have kempas now and do not like it. it dings, scratches and finish is coming off. looks great but i would not do it again.. i am moving now and doing to do wood looking porcelain tiles. no maintenance and looks perfect.

Thank you so much for letting me know. Your floors sure are beautiful! So sorry that the finish is coming off. What brand did you go with?

P.S. What width are your floors LaJoanna? Also do you know what brand it is since I wonder if the Valenza Exotic Collection by Armstrong would be any sturdier?

LaJoanna, I really find your floors so beautiful. How many years has your floors been down? Have you had any problems with metal in contact with the floors? What width did you use? All wood floors scratch and dent since I have now water damaged BR-111 Brazilian Cherry Floors in the 5" width with boards way too long for my small rooms. I thought longer was better but now I see only in rooms with a lot of floor showing.

I called Armstrong today regarding sending me samples of their Engineered Exotic floors 3.5" wide 5/8th thick with 4 MM real wood on top and a scratch resistant coating called Permion Urethane this is supposed to add protection. I remember testing samples in 2009 and this floor was better than others. I would like to look at the Kempas, Brazilian Cherry and the Santos Mahogany.

They were from Tropical Flooring in El Monte, CA. They were installed in 2007...and we are moving. I am going to do the new house with porcelain tile that looks like wood!
