I am hoping for some advice on the family room flooring. We will have carpet with a small section of tile at the entrance of the family room from the garage. This is the current setup but the tile now in an arc from the wall to the fireplace. The new fireplace won't be as wide so going to the fireplace with the tile might not work. So my questions:
Any suggestions on the shape and size to make the tile area?
The tile area and carpeted area now has quarter round. Is this still standard practice in this situation? Or is there a way to use quarter round for the tile area and transition to no quarter round where there is carpet?
