Neither the brown nor the black sound attractive but I have a few questions.
How will you address the difference between the thickness in the wood trim and vinyl floor?
How well will a wood nosing hold up where you're using it?
How much will this cost?

I was told that the wood would be milled to "fit" the plank.
My husband had the same question regarding the durability of a wood nose. I am waiting to hear from the flooring contractor regarding type of wood he suggests and cost.
I believe the brown and black stair nose is rubber so that sounds pretty bad. Seems to me that it would cheapen the look but that leaves me with a milled stair nose. I don't know enough to understand why Mannington doesn't offer a stair nose for their luxury vinyl planks.

They probably don't offer it due to the complexity and cost.

If a wood nosing is milled to match a vinyl plank's thickness I don't see how it could last. It would be thin and prone to cracking. Sad to say but the brown or black are probably the most practical choices.

Will take a look at the stairnose thats offered by Mannington. Hope it looks ok.
