| Hi, I am planning to have a sand and finish hickory floor installed in my kitchen. I would like it to be a medium brown color with a hint of red. The color my contractor is recommending is nutmeg. I love the coloring of nutmeg, but would like the floor a little darker. I know that hickory is a very dense wood and a little tricky to stain. Does anyone know if it is recommended or not to water pop hickory? Thanks! |

| It is tricky to stain & I'd definitely water pop it. Done right it is beautiful! |
