Finishing basement: LVP or Laminate

Good morning, all,

I am in the process of finishing out 1000 sq. ft in my basement. I am at a crossroads with selecting the flooring.

Carpeting and hardwood are not options due to animal issues. I am not a tile fan, so that is out. This leads me to laminate or luxury vinyl plank.

Our budget is around $4K, so that leaves me a normal amount of options.

I was leaning towards LVP, because I have had bad experiences with laminate in the past. (Spills that seeped into the flooring and essentially ruined in.)

I have seen options from Home Depot, Lowes, BuildDirect and Shaw that are all okay. You know they are fake wood, but I like the foot feel of them better than the laminate.

Mannington's Adura impressed me with some of the embossings. Gorgeous looks and nice foot feel.

I was also looking at QuickLock based on really good reviews. Same as the Adura - really nice looks, but a little smoother feelings under foot.

Can anyone provide me some concrete pros and cons to go one way or the other?

Thanks,
Jennifer
