If someone says they have light/natural colored matte floors throughout their home..what kind of room style/decor would be conjured up in your mind ? What would you expect their interior to be like? Do you think light matte floors look less elegant than satin or shiny sheen?

Like many of you we were torn about the color and sheen finish on our flooring redo. At the last minute, the floor guy put a sample on our floor of a product that is suppose to be harder than many coats of poly, even though it is matte. We liked the color and went with it. They look light and airy. They look very soft and velvety. The look natural. They came out very very matte, so much so ....they kind of look "unfinished".

I like the look but I am having a hard time now imagining the elegant room decor /style I was planning on. So before I continue , get furniture, decorate, etc. I'd like to know when you think of light and airy matte floors what is style /decor is conjured up in your mind?
