Question on tiling closets

So we want to redo our bathroom. We have two mirrored closets. These closets have a metal track on the floor. Two contractors have told us that the metal track should be removed when we tile the floor in the bathroom/closets (the closets are in the bathroom). These contractors say that's the best way to do it. Then they would put back the metal track. One contractor says don't remove the metal track. Just tile up to it in the bathroom, and then tile the closets. We don't know who is being best. One contractor says the contractor who doesn't want to remove the metal track and then put it back is just being lazy. Is he correct?
