floored by hardwood

In our build we have speced out engineered wood flooring on concrete. We need to stay in the 7.50 per sq ft installed range. Flooring america has been showing us floors in the 3.99 per sq ft range for the material. What are some good brands to look for in this price point? Any to stay away from? I assume I want glue down. We have young kids and a dog so a type that will help hide scratches would be best. CAn anyone educate me?

Thanks

take a look at lumber liquidators as well, you will most likely be able to find a higher quality product in the same price point. Also don't be afraid to look at bamboo as an option as well.
there are also some excellent porcelain tiles out there now that mimick wood flooring, and the durability for a growing family can't be beat.
