Hi Wise Ones -

I am struggling with how to merge old with new. In the picture the the dining room exists with 8"/4" wide hardwood floors running horizontally. To connect the old with the new, we have an angle area with French doors. The new area is the kitchen/family room. I am struggling for how to make the floor transition work. We have a more contemporary clean line with a very open floor plan so I think it's best to continue the wood flooring throughout, however, that angle is throwing me for a loop. There is a small art nook where, the flooring would be angled to it, which doesn't seem quite right. Any ideas on how to make this work? Would you suggest just keeping the horizontal flow all the way through? No turning at all? Not sure that would work either. Thoughts greatly appreciated!!
