Squeaky Floor Help

Hi All, I'm looking for advice. I'm replacing the carpeting on the 2nd story of my house and thought I would finally repair the annoying squeaks in one bedroom floor. After removing the carpet and peeling back the carpet mat I located the squeaking. It is all between 2 joists, to which I rescrewed the 3/4" subfloor with 2 1/2" wood screws. I also rescrewed adjacent joists/subfloors to make sure. My problem is I can't eliminate the squeaks. Its as if the subfloor itself is squeaking against itself. I've done internet searches for this problem, but had no luck. I've included a picture of the trouble area. It's 16" wide by 8' (two subfloor sheets) wide. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Pour some talcum powder over the joints and work it down into them....you might try tapping with a hammer. As it works it's way in, it will lubricate the areas where the wood rubs together.

Unfortunately, the quality of the plywood of your subfloor, as you can see, it's very poor. My guess is that, being particle board, the plywood is moving against the screws.

However, if you feel that the two sheets are moving against each other, there is an easy fix for it. Take a skilsaw and make a cut right between the two sheets, creating some space there.

With that being a problem subfloor and cheap particleboard or osb, I'd just replace it with plywood. Small room and it's easy to do.
