Grout spots stuck on wood look porcelain tile

2 weeks ago new porcelain wood look til was installed in hall bathroom. Grout spots won't come off low spots in tile. Contractor used chemical and rubbing to try to remove. Now he says darker grout would have made this fade into tile. It seems to me the grout on tiles should have been removed during the grouting. Contractor wants to try grout refresh 'painting' tiles. What do you think of all this? Thanks!

Looks horrible. Are the edges of the tile chipped?

If the edges are chipped, it looks like a regular, repeating occurance. I would be very displeased. This is bad.

The chipped look was on the tile which came from Floor and Decor. The tile they displayed did not look like that. I did not know to check tile for this as did not know it would look like this. So I have bad tile with a bad install job! Installer came and blue taped grout lines and then painted grout refresh on tiles. The light grout spots faded in to the tile. But where the paint tape was it still had some spots. I fired them, they refunded $200. I tried to paint the grout lines but looks bad as where tape was is one coat but where it wasn't is 2 coats. Ugh... I am having it torn out and redone but a true professional. Do not use New Leaf Renovation in Marietta, GA. Danny Brown can sell but he contracts work out. Why use him?! He has a million excuses too.
