How to achieve gray-brown hardwood stain?

We are laying ~800sf of 5" wide unfinished white oak in our great room and would like to stain it a light/medium grayish-toffee brown color. Does anyone know how to achieve this? We want the gray/brown rather than the typical orange/amber premixed colors. Thanks!

Experiment with the MinWax pastel line mixed with their regular stains. You will soon get the hang of it but you will need to practice with very small batches so as not to to have too much waste.

Hi JPH. I'm installing the same white oak, although I'm going with a 6", plank and I'd like to do the same color as you. Were you able to achieve the color you wanted and if so, could you offer guidance on how you did it so I can tell my floor man? Thanks!
