I have a wood floor in my kitchen that was installed and finished onsite about eight years ago. I have a peninsula that I want moved about five feet to extend the size of my kitchen; however, there is no wood floor under my peninsula. I there a way we can use the wood floor that will be cut out for the new position of the peninsula to fill in the floor for the old position? Or what would be the recommendation so that it doesn't look funny? My dad thinks we'll have to buy unfinished wood, sand it, and refinish the whole floor. I don't really want to go to that much trouble. Any suggestions?
