Interior Brick Floors

We are putting brick floors in our mudroom and laundry room. We are using real bricks and most of the colors I like are a bit more tumbled. They give you the more "old world" effect. This brick is also going on our fireplace. Question: Does anyone have tumbled/slightly tumbled brick floors and what is the result of walking on them? Is it uncomfortable? Keep in mind it's not in my kitchen so I'm not going to be hanging out on them for hours at a time. The bricks that are super tumbled will be pulled to go on Fireplace. Any other general info on brick floors is also encouraged. I grew up on Old St. Louis brick floors and LOVED them. 8) Thanks.

You'll have to vacuum instead of sweep, so you might want to look at doing a central unit to keep the PIA factor minimized in that regard. It will grab and hold on to all dirt and can't be mopped. Actual bricks and not paver bricks will be softer and eventually show wear pattns. They are also highly porous and you need to decide what type of sealer you want to deal with to keep them from becoming too stained.

I have them in my house. They are not sealed. Just use a corn broom. They plastic brooms will not work. You don't need a vacuum. When you mop you sometimes need to use a small scrub brush, in addition.
