| I'm trying to plan the kitchen in our new home. We plan to start building in beginning of May so I still have some time to decide. I'm not sure what color will go best with hickory floors. I really like medium maple cabinets with a glaze and but I'm afraid it might be too busy. Then I considered cream cabinets with medium maple island. Just worried that I might get tired of cream cabinets over time. It's an open floor plan and hickory flooring will be in Great Room, DR and Kitchen. Any ideas will be much appreciated!! |

| Hickery can be very busy so I think I would go for something that showed very little grain like a maple. maybe forget the glaze. A dark cherry perhaps would be a good contrast with little grain. Dark maple island with maple cabinets. That sounds a little busy too but I'm just throwing things out there. |
