is this normal with pergo presto?

The planks in the unopened boxes of flooring are coated in a greasy residue top and bottom. Fortunately, I was able to remove it with a tack cloth. This product was not sold as seconds. Bringing the flooring back poses a problem since we live 70 miles away. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue. If so, have there been any residual problems with the flooring? Is Pergo customer service helpful with problems? So far, for some reason my email to them from their website could not be sent. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks
