Best source for oak stair treads, etc?

Hi all,
My new 1880 home's stairs have had it. After uncarpeting them, we see they were painted and had some kind of black stain or something on them. If that were all, we'd refinish them the best we could and keep the character and imperfections. But, alas, they aren't in very good shape.
Is there any place to purchase treads, probably oak, that isn't outrageous? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
