| I'm looking for an alternate to expensive wooden floors that will likely get trashed around here anyways.
Looks like a local guy puts down 8" rough cut planks- countersinks screws in, filling the holes with wooden plugs. Then a coat with something to protect it. Douglas fir.
Wood comes from the local mill. It requires drying by heaters in the basement first.
Does this sounds like a good idea? I am looking for "rustic" and HOPING for a lower price than standard store bought wooden flooring.
The alternative is laminate, which I'd rather not do unless required.
Would appreciate any opinions on plank floors like this! |
