We are having our floors site finished in the house we are building. 3 1/4 inch white oak character grade #1 has been installed. I have seen a oil finish in one new house and thought it was beautiful, but I don't know about the durability of a waterlox type finish. Can you guys advise? I know I want a satin finish regardless of what we choose, and it looks like the oil based finished show off more of the beauty of the wood. My concern is how this floor will respond to dropped objects, high heels, water spots, pebble in the shoe, etc. Thanks for any feedback you have. I would also love to see pics of your white oak floor finishes.
