I found carpet I like from two different stores and had both stores come out to measure (on different days) so they could give me an estimate. I feel bad not hiring one of them since they went to the trouble of coming out to my home and measuring. I thought of splitting the job into two so I could give some work to each store. Am I over thinking this? I just feel bad that I had them bother to measure before I completely decided on which carpet I wanted. Any thoughts? Or is free estimates/measuring part of the deal and this happens all of the time?
