Glue down click and lock laminate flooring?

I have a laminate floor that I am putting down in an upstairs bedroom. It is Mannington, but it apparently is not engineered very well. It will NOT stay locked together.

Here's my idea. Any and all comments welcome. I am planning to cut asphalt shingles into narrow strips. If I cut the "lips" off the flooring and put two of the strips between planks, in both the long and short sides, and glue together with construction adhesive. That way, they won't be glued down to the floor and will still "float" but won't come apart.

There is glue in the marketplace that is made to glue the locking system together.
