its nice. I have seen grey porcelain tile made to look like wood (search: wood look tile) really nice on floors in living rooms. I wanted durable no fuss floors and I considered tile. Here is one example from Lowes Style Selections Metro Wood Porcelain Tile in different shades. I think Home Depot may have a similar line as well as tile shops. I saw one by Porcelanosa called Parker also really neat looks feels like wood but obviously hard because it's tile. maybe install heating under the tile floors ?

FWIW, this room also has white with gray marble baseboards.

All that matters is, do you and SHE like it? Looks OK to moi...
