Floating Floor Question

Hello!

We are installing an engineered birch tongue and groove flooring on our dry CO concrete basement. The concrete is very levelOur question is what type of underlayment and process should we use? If we use a floating method, should we use the roll out vapor barrier? If we glue it down, should we use the epoxy vapor barriers? We feel confident that we can handle either, but I am wondering which would work better.

Floating is easier to DIY than glue. MUCH easier. And it's slightly warmer under foot because of the cushion/vapor barrier. And it's also easier to pull back up and throw out when moisture does damage it. Wood of any variety is not recommended for below grade.
